drive safely and get rewarded

Vitality Drive International, a South African financial services leader, envisioned redefining its offering with an innovative shared value insurance model, seeking to streamline risk assessment while influencing customer behavior positively.
The shared value model bases insurance offerings on actual client behaviors, like driving habits, rather than traditional risk assumptions. This approach paves the way for personalized insurance deals, leading to cost savings and a better customer experience.
After Vitality Drive International launched its shared value insurance app with advanced tracking features, it decided to market the solution to other insurers.
A partner insurer saw the shared value model's potential and partnered with Vitality Drive International to adapt it for their car insurance offering. We collaborated with Vitality Drive International to manage the technical complexities and ensure a seamless implementation of the core solution.
While the shared value model offers clear benefits for both insurers and customers, implementing such a data-heavy solution presents two significant challenges:
1. Data Collection: Insurers need a solid technical infrastructure to track and collect data on users' driving habits.
2. Continuous User Motivation: To foster safer driving habits, insurers must keep users engaged continuously.
This was a challenge Vitality Drive International's client also faced.
We tailored and integrated Vitality Drive International’s SDK to fit their client’s specific needs, ensuring seamless data flow and incorporating the user motivation features central to their product strategy. Once the SDK was in place, we developed the iOS and Android apps, providing a smooth native experience aligned with the client’s product goals.
As a result, the SDK processed data from user’s mobile devices or sensors installed in their cars, converting raw inputs into actionable insights.
So, the data was there, but the goal was to encourage safer driving behaviors which required even more consistent user engagement. To address this, Vitality Drive International introduced gamified features within the app to further motivate users. By incorporating rewards, they aimed to boost users' motivation, helping them set goals and track their progress.
With the new native apps, we ensured users could monitor their achievements and detailed trip ratings over time. They could unlock rewards such as discounts, vouchers, and personalized insurance offers based on their driving habits and safety profiles.
Our involvement in Vitality Drive International’s project enabled their clinet to seamlessly transition over 40,000 users from their legacy app to the new, enhanced version without disrupting their experience or data continuity.
Through innovative technology and our strategic partnership with Vitality Drive International, Supercharge demonstrated its expertise in transformative digital solutions. This win-win approach streamlined development, reduced costs, and ensured scalability while lowering insurance risks and costs for the client. Simultaneously, the solution enhanced user engagement and fostered customer loyalty by promising better insurance rates in exchange for safer driving routines.
