The AR app addressing store auditing challenges

Sales representatives, pivotal in auditing retailers with contractual product sales agreements, ensure products meet contract obligations on store shelves. This includes evaluating competitors' shelf share and generating comprehensive reports.

Previously, the process required taking photos of shelves, uploading them, and awaiting image recognition responses— a cumbersome task needing high-quality photos and a stable internet connection. As a result, store visits became time-consuming, exacerbated by a manual report creation process that added further delays to the overall task.

To overcome this challenge, we created an AR shelf-scanning solution, which empowers sales reps to effortlessly conduct real-time shelf audits using their smartphones or tablets, eliminating the need for photo-taking or time-consuming report creation.

Advanced Technical Foundations

The app's foundation is Trax's AR SDK (Software Development Kit), facilitating swift and precise product recognition on store shelves. While Trax provided the fundamental SDK, Supercharge led the user experience and interface design and built the robust iPhone and iPad apps.

Conveniently relying on a device at hand, the image recognition engine determines whether a product belongs to the user's brand or a competitor, tells about its availability, or shares further details about its placement requirements.

Automatically Turning Shelf Data into Actionable Insights

The new application simplifies the reporting process through its automatic report generation function. The feature ensures users receive a precise and shareable report immediately after scanning shelves.

Reports directly translate shelf data into actionable insights, whether it's highlighting product trends or informing them about missing products.

“The new workflow is as fast as Speedy Gonzales”

Feedback from one of the largest FMCG players was overwhelmingly positive. Users emphasised the app's speed, super-intuitive interface, and potential to streamline and simplify their work.

The tool has significantly boosted their client's productivity by minimizing sales reps' time spent in stores and providing them with ready-to-use insights to constantly up their game.

We have been incredibly happy to join Trax in its mission to transform traditional store auditing processes by building such a cutting-edge app incorporating the latest tech solutions.
